Supported browser
Trying to log into child’s school app and once I enter log in credentials, reCaptcha
comes up and says please upgrade to a supported browser to get a reCAPTCHA
challenge.

Apparently it means that the app is not comparable;w with your current browser version. You can either update Safari by upgrading the operating system (Safari is installed as part of the OS) or you can install another browser such as Firefox which can be individually updated.
