Text Replacement Capitalizing Automatically

Hi All,


I am attempting to set up a text replacement for Arabic transliteration using the option key. In the replace column, I have 'option+d' and in the right column I am entering the unicode hex for the letter - in this case 'option+1E0D' - after switching keyboard input. It seems to be all set as shown in the picture below:


However, when I go to use it, it automatically replaces with a capital letter - see picture below:


I've tried adjusting the setting for automatically capitalizing, but otherwise not sure how to troubleshoot. As it is pretty specific, I also haven't been able to find any posts related. Thanks for any help!

Very strange! I have the same problem in Catalina.


Pending figuring out why this happens, I suggest using the ABC Extended keyboard layout. ḍ is option x, d with that. Others for Arabic transliteration also easy.
