The standard retail answer, has already been given
several times to other inquiries in Community; and
also elsewhere online.
However should You continue using it; knowing the
iPad has expired security ~ and use 'Wi-Fi only' behind
the potential firewall, or other available screening; that
a modern up-to-date iPhone could wield, then it may
still be useful and safer.
An old Safari browser may still leak & won't see updates.
And older iOS within, can't challenge most confrontation.
But due to the out-of-date nature of electronics against
the upsurge of real-world security failings, to get a new
or newer more secure device is practical and advisable.
[I've found my old iPad mini 1.1 'wi-fi only' iOS 9.3.5 can
still visit sites and places online that are likely insecure.
In some sites where 'http' & newer 'https' appear in use.]
Just like my (recent given) iMac 2009 24-in. 2.33GHz mac
tops out with El Capitan; and not using my Apple ID, does
OK w/ Safari (w/ updated certificates) to see AK Weather.
A few times I've viewed youtube video; never logged-in.
And the unit has no affiliation with my online persona.
The mid 2009 iMac can't upgrade further, iPad not at all.
Old iPad content/use is limited; likely presents major leak.
These older products to me, have never had 'value'. Like
my Late 2005 Mac mini G4 (10.5.8). ~ It works, to see old
files on vintage software; & edits from old digital camera.
Could be crazy to use obsolete Apple items, on open internet.
Some filters exist; with ISP servers, hand-offs between devices.
But can't just ignore the risks, especially in past few years.
More modern devices, & PC/Mac will use better browsers.
Don't advocate irresponsibility by reselling; and stay safe!
