The phone itself. You don’t need 3rd party virus protection on an iPhone, and because of the software architecture of the phone, an antivirus app can’t do anything useful anyway, other than slow down your phone. The best virus protection is to update iOS whenever a new version is available.
Just to try to be precise, there has never been a virus that could infect an iPhone, using the strict definition of “virus”, which is self-replicating code that can jump from one device to another. There have been occasional vulnerabilities (not viruses) that might allow a bad actor to gain access to some function of an iOS device, but Apple is very good about responding to those very quickly, so the chance of your encountering one is very close to zero. To stay abreast of vulnerabilities, Apple pays huge bounties to anyone who finds and reports such a vulnerability; there was one such this year where the person who reported it was awarded $250,000.
