How can a text message crossover from an android phone to an iPhone

How can a text message crossover from an android phone to an iPad?

I have been texting with a friend from my iPhone to her android phone. At some point during the day, My text messages ended up going to her husbands iPad. They were 400 miles apart at the time.

my phone still showed the whole string of text messages but none indication that it went to anyone else.

I have them both down as different contacts with different information.

I deleted his contact and re-entered it hoping that would help. It did not.

I would really like to know how to get this resolved.

There is nothing that you can do at your end. It appears that the iPad is using the same Apple ID as the iPhone that you are sending the messages to. In other words, your friend's iPhone and her husband's iPad are using the same Apple ID. That iPad can therefore share messages, contacts, notes etc with her iPhone. Your friend and her husband will need to use separate Apple ID's so that information does not overlap. It is their decision and they may not want to do that.

Did the other person once have an iPhone?

Does the other person receive your text message on the Android phone and the iPad?

When you send the message then is the message going out as a SMS message (green bubble) or an iMessage (Blue Bubble)?

Can you double check on your side and ensure that you are sending the message out to a Phone number and not an email address?

Apparently there was more to the story. My friend has a MacBook laptop. She sent me a message yesterday but it came across as an email address. My response to her was the green bubble.

When I would text to her android phone it was a blue bubble.

She said she and her husband have separate Apple IDs. She did mention today that another friend who tries to send her text to her android phone have shown up on her laptop.

i’m just thinking she should get rid of her android phone!🙂
