How can you tell if hacked?

Out of town and only today able to install updates. Trying to reboot, monitor and mini Mac no longer connect. I’ve checked all connecting cords. Suggestions?

Mac mini, macOS 12.0

I don't think what you describe has anything to do with being hacked.

What type of monitor, how is it connected, are there adaptors or a hub or dock involved? "Checked all connecting cords" -- have you tried using a different cable? Is there another computer you can try with the monitor, or another minor you can try with the Mac Mini?

Try booting into Safe Mode and see if it connects ok that way. If it does, reboot normally and check again.
