MacOS-Apple music-cannot use crossfade feature

Hello-I have Monterrey 12.5.1 and within Apple Music there is a crossfade feature. When I enable the feature it does not work. How do I activate this feature? I click Music>Preferences>Playback and confirm Crossfade is checked off. I used the slider to the number of seconds I want and clicked OK at the bottom.

Still does not work.

How do I enable this feature on my Mac?
