Change Home Directory Name (keeping the same User ID)

During data migration it happened that my home directory have been renamed <home name>_1_2. My user ID is <home name>.

Can I change dir name back to <home name> from user advanced options?

what would be the steps?

any risk?

Thanks

nope. you need to follow the steps in the link provided by neuroanatomist TO THE LETTER. if you try to skip steps, you can possibly lose all data within the account. and it will be very difficult, if not impossible to recover from that.
