iphone mail

I have an iPhone 13. Up to date iOS 15.6.1. With this update I lost the red bubble on mail showing how many unread emails I have. I checked settings and there's not even a badge option any more. Any plans on getting that function back, Apple? Or anyone find a fix for it yet?

However, despite the blue dots all still being there, if you filter by "unread", none of the email show up. The app knows they have been read, but does not clear the blue dot. Email skipping to next unread while reading a different email After the last update my email has had an issue. While reading an email the next unread email will automatically open even before I've finished reading it. I manage my important emails by keeping them unread to go back to later. It usually goes to the next email in less than 3 seconds after opening. I have restarted, tried to isolate by turning off each email. I have plenty of storage. I am hesitant to delete the app for fear of losing data. It is an iPhone 13 on iOS 16.3.1. Any help would be appreciated.

why can't i see the number of unread emails? Why can't I see the number of unread emails after upgraded software to 15.7.1 on my iphone 8 plus.

It does exist on my iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15.6.1, please see the pic below. It is called Badges.

I don't have badges as an option. And I did just go from a 12 (where I had it) to a 13 (where I don't). Any other thoughts/insights?
