Apple ID verification failed

Tried to update WhatsApp or any other App from AppStore and it asks for itune store password. Even after entering correct password, getting ‘Verification failed, Invalid Apple ID or Password’ message. Password is correct. I tested by signing into iCloud account

You may have signed into the App Store using another Apple ID. Please recheck.

I signed out and signed into AppStore once again with Apple I’d password but if I try to update Apps, it asks for iTunes password and same ‘Verification failed’ error
