I have an iPhone 11 and my friend has a Samsung phone. I’m able to receive his messages but he isn’t receiving my messages. He’s able to receive my gifs but not texts. How can I fix this? This started yesterday.

So you’re saying you can send MMS messages to this person but not SMS messages to that same person at the same telephone number. That’s very strange. If that’s the situation, you might seek assistance from your cellular carrier.

Is your friend a former Apple product user? He must deregister iMessage as follows:
Deregister iMessage on your iPhone or online - Apple Support
