Charging Macbook Pro with 1m USB-C

Is it safe to use a USB-C Charging Cable (1m) with a 61W Power Adapter to charge my Macbook Pro 2017?

The 1m cable is thinner than the 2m cable that came along with the Mac. Will this cause any serious issues?

140W power adapter I just bought a 2023 Macbook Pro 16" (M2 pro chip) ... The included charger is the 140W power adapter and USB-C to magsafe 3 charger. Is there any risk to using a 96W power adapter to charge via a USB-C to USB-C cable? Asking being the 96W power adapter does not list the newest M2 Pro model under "compatibility."
