Split macOS Photos Album
I have many pictures in a single Photos Album that really should be split into multiple Albums.
Is there any easy way to split a Photo Album?
iMac 27″, macOS 12.4

You can cut and paste between albums. So the steps would be:
The selected photos are removed from the original album and added to the new one.
Create new albums as desired and repeat.

You could highlight the photos you want to move, right click them and chose "add to Folder" then pick "New Folder".
Unfortunately, when you go back to the original Album, they are no longer highlighted so you have to select them again to delete them from that Album.
I couldn't find a quicker way.....

Thank you for replying.
I tried something along the lines of what you suggested. Unfortunately, when I right click on the selected photos, I’m presented with the spinning pizza of death. I presume that my old iMac is simply not capable of building the very long list of existing Albums.
So, while theoretically plausible, this approach does NOT work in practice.
Thank you for the your suggestion nevertheless.
I suppose you could create a new album and then cut and paste the photos from your original album into the new album.
