I have seen previous questions about disnoted going as far back as 7 years, but I have not seen an answer to the problem I have. I have tried to kill multiple disnoted processes using activity monitor and failed. Does anyone know how to kill these processes?

It's the daemon that implements the notification center system service. Under normal circumstances it should use only a few megabytes of memory and a negligible amount of CPU.
There have been several observed bad interactions between some programs and the service which eventually impact resource usage by the daemon. Notably skype, f.lux, emacs have all been known or suspected to have bad interactions.
