Why do you think that makes it not a carrier issue? Your account settings on your carrier's side could have gotten messed up. It happens. You'll never know until you contact them.

It happens to me too, but ONLY overseas SMS I can't receive a single one.

Only after update I stopped receiving overseas system notification in my company.

I couldn't figure out what is wrong with the phone.

I can send to the overseas number, but I can't receive any SMS from overseas.

I did, and they said it's my phone and asked me to do the most painful thing, reset network settings of my phone..... I only will do that as a last resort as it would kill every wifi , BT, and VPN settings I have for my company. If it is then yeah it's software problem, ios.

Probably is software issue. But I have Verizon too on iPhone 8
