How to turn off the duel SIM functions and only use 1 phone number on my 13-mini

I just changed from my se to 13-mini, using 15.6.1. I only have one phone number and no matter what I do in the settings it keeps trying to use phone numbers that I use in iMessage. How do I turn off the Dual SIM function? I only want to receive and send from one phone number.

Dual SIM connected to wifi: Messages going as SMS Hi. I’ve read previous discussion threads and there seems to be no resolution to this issue. (When we tell you the steps suggested by Apple aren’t working, please advise further!) I just got a second eSIM for Travel. It is currently turned off. When I went to send a message to another iPhone from my Primary (original) local number, it is going as SMS. As instructed in other treads, the “From” is selected as the Primary iPhone number. The Travel number is turned OFF. Still, my iMessages are going as SMS. Please HELP!

If you don't have any other sim card on your iPhone, it won't ask for an optional number to send SMS or to make calls
