Find and Replace in Numbers not working correctly

I've tried duplicating the spreadsheet, toggling the < and > arrows... selected the correct cells... why is this so difficult???

Is there a fix yet?

Buttons to replace are greyed out. There are a few other forums that mention this. I'm hoping someone has a real solution. I did figure out that removing the first letter in the cell brought them back... I assume there's some kind of data included in that first character... but this is not really a solution considering you can't do anything with it. I'm sure the fact that it is hyperlinked, doesn't help... but if I can do it in Excel, I want to be able to do it in Numbers.

Instead of replacing "No Player Notes", I could replace (N)o Player Notes... I had to leave the N to get the buttons back.
