Updated to iOS 15.6.1 to fix bugs…only it made my phone buggy

Texting and group texting android users is a known issue with iPhone users, only I never had the experience until this week. I updated to iOS 15.6.1 and now the group texting I need to effectively communicate with management at work has stopped working. Also had a group text with my kids basketball coach and other parents that doesn’t work. Messaging worked 100% all the time prior to the update. I did all the usual check to make sure sms/mms and group texting were all on, restarted my phone, cleared the cache of messages I had, turned off iMessage, no remedy worked. How can I fix this? If I can’t figure this out I will be forced to switch away from my iPhone.

iPhone 13 mini, iOS 15

MMS has always been a phone carrier feature, nothing to do with imessage, Apple or the IOS.

Even if you switch to a different phone MMS is still a phone carrier feature.

So contact yours to resolve the issue.

The fact that is stopped working after an update is a coincidence, not a causation. SMS/MMS are both carrier features and use the cellular network to send/receive. There are no other settings on the iPhone for SMS/MMS other than the one switch for MMS. You need to speak with your carrier to ensure your SMS/MMS ability is configured on your account. Only the carrier can troubleshoot those issues.

You didn’t read my whole issue if you focus only on mms. It’s my everyday standard issue text with android users being forced to be sent over sms where iMessage can’t be used that’s the problem, and never before this recent update. Been sending group text for a year and only stopped working after the recent update.

And you didn't read my response of contacting your phone carrier...

You should also tell them if they can't figure it out that you'll switch to a different service.
