AppleTV 4k not playing well with YouTube (Again!)

last week appletv suddenly has a problem connecting to youtube streams. Clicking on a video causes a pause and a stumble of several seconds. It affects the video and the commercials. I own 3 AppleTV 4K devices and they each do the exact same thing. I have restarted, reset my modem and router, no change! I'm thinking YouTube is again actively trying to cause trouble. Anyone else seeing this happen with ATV?

Just saw this! WOW... Thank You! Everything seems to be working just fine... knock on apple wood!

Update: Ooops, clicked on Solved but the green check mark went to my response. Which was simply intended as a thank you to Kurt for pointing out the fix for the issue. Hopefully this can be remedied.

I am experiencing a similar problem, with YouTube app on AppleTV. Screen goes black for a couple seconds. Pattern seems to be whenever an Ad starts playing. It does this a few times including once or twice after the video I’m watching starts playing again. Then no dropouts again until next set of Ads when this sequence repeats. Neither powering AppleTV 4K off/on nor reinstalling YouTube app helped.

Exactly what mine are doing! Just updated firmware on my router... no change. Wonder if my Internet provider is having some sort of issue. All 3 ATV's started doing this about a week ago. Almost as if a buffer issue. Feed starts right away as always, but then black's out for a couple seconds. Even the Ads are affected. They don't play full length and get interrupted at the start. Never experienced this before. Maybe an ATV update will solve it?

In case you didn't see it in another thread, go to settings, audio/video and turn off frame rate matching.

Why do that just for YouTube? And I retract my earlier response that I was not having any problems with YouTube and my Apple TVs. I am now for sure and it’s the same pattern described here. It is very likely caused by a change in frame rates when ads are played.
