Hi Capsano2,
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Seems you would want to go directly to the limited Email account at the Email provider's website online
(eg: Gmail or Outlook, Yahoo, isp, etc.) and delete some of the eMails there.
You might want to look through the account settings that you have set there.
(Eg: You could check/ change how long eMails are kept in the account's inbox online.)
You may be able to ensure your Inbox there never gets so full, as you are accessing your eMails in "Mail" app on your iPad.
(Some of us set things up so eMails are not kept in the provider's account for long at all. After all, we have the same eMails on our devices.)
If you also want to clean up your iPad's Mail app: you may want to delete or archive older eMails
Apple support have an article online help with this.
Delete and recover emails in Mail on iPad – Apple Support
We are all Apple users, like yourself, in this community.
If you want to contact Apple as your isp suggests:
There is a "Get Support" link to the "Mail" Support team at the bottom of their website (link below)
All the best :-)

ISPs have limits on how much storage space you can use, so if your account is at or near the limit, you will need to go through the emails and delete some or (if possible) archive some and move them off your account. Also check the settings in your ISP account online to see how long they keep them before deleting thm.
