Please do not tell me to make sure the volume is up… Please do not tell me to reboot my phone… Please do not tell me that I need to make sure my software is all up-to-date… Please stop giving me ******** answers. I have done all those things every time this has happened… And it still keeps happening. This is clearly a bug, has been for a long time, and it needs to be resolved.
Not acknowledging it makes people angry… Whereas, acknowledging it, then admitting that you just haven’t been able to figure it out yet… Is more likely to elicit compassion, patience, and maybe even some inspiration to try to help resolve the issue. Of course there is a chance it might elicit a lack of confidence… But that would be well deserved… Just as anger would be well deserved… but which would you rather elicit—anger or lack of confidence?
