MacBook Air M1 locks in black screen instead of sleep

Instead of going to sleep, my MacBook Air locks in a black screen (as if shut down) and doesn't respond to nothing, not even the on/off button. I have to force shut down (hold button) and the turn it on again. I just installed Monterey 12.5.1, is it related? Anybody else with the same issue?

Macbook Air M2 frequently waking from sleep with black screen / no display waking I have a nearly brand new MacBook Air M2, and a problem recently is that after waking from sleep (even if slept just for seconds), the screen does not wake and stays black. The keyboard is clearly active, it illuminates and responds (caps lock, etc). I have to force restart by holding the power button down. I understand that the M2 no longer has SMC/PRAM to reset, and the only tips I see are to restart. But this behavior is worrying. OS is Monterey 12.6.2. What should I do to fix this?

Macbook Air M3 screen stays black when laptop lid is opened Upon opening the laptop lid, instead of the screen waking up, it remains black. Pressing any key makes no difference. The only way to get it to wake up is to hold down the power button and restart it. Is this a known issue? I saw an old post reporting this same problem with an M1 MacBook Air (although the M1 MacBook Air I had previously never displayed this behavior). I ran Apple Diagnostics and it reports no issues. Please advise - TIA.
