My iMac Pro sits there with an endless spinning circle

I am trying to upgrade my RAM on a imac pro mid 2011 from 8GB to 16 GB. I have two 4GB installed and added another 2 4GB. But after booting up and entering my password for login, it just sits there with an endless spinning circle. When i removed my new ones, the computer still does the same thing. I am unable to login :(. Did I mess up my computer?

I’ll assume an iMac mid 2011 model here. Maybe a 27”? The iMac Pro is a 2017 model, and not a 2011 model.

Here is how to add memory into an iMac:

Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support

Following those directions, re-seat all of the original memory, and try again.

See the section If your iMac doesn’t start up after you install memory in that linked article.

Yes, it is possible to cause damage while changing the amount of memory installed. Whether that has happened here?

Yes thats correct imac 27inch mid 2011.

so after 30min it finally logged in, but i could only see the background. No apps nothing was loading, i stepped away and now its back to the spinning circle with a black background. I followed the instructions above during install and I reinstalled original and new, but nothing works. What else could I do?
