iPhone 13 not receiving SMS messages

I'm running iOS 15.6.1 on my new iPhone 13 Pro. I just restored to it from the latest backup on my laptop.

I don't seem to be getting any of the normal SMS messages (like news stuff, etc.) that I was getting just before the conversion.

Ordinarily I would have thought that it must be a problem within the particular app, but since it is happening across all apps (as far as I can tell), I'm thinking I must have a problem with my SMS settings, but I can't find where that might be.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

That is all that is needed.

If it really fouls up this is the reset

Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage

Settings, Face Time, Turn off Face Time

Restart the phone.

Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage, SMS, MMS

Settings, Messages, send & Receive, select your number which should now be there.

Settings, Face Time, Turn on Face Time

Ok, MMS Messaging was already on. I changed "Send as SMS" from off to on.

I could not find a field marked just "SMS" or "SMS Messaging".

I'll need to wait now until someone or something sends me a message.

Sound about right?
