Missing iwatch

My watch is a series 6. The battery has died. When I do find my watch shows my address with the time 3:10am. But I thought I read somewhere if the battery is dead it shows the location of your phone, not watch. But 3:10 may be when the battery died. Can someone confirm if the location I’m seeing on find my watch is accurate? Thanks
