How can I disable Spaces / extra desktop feature?
Every time I move something towards the top edge it creates a new 'Space'. This is very irritating indeed, and I wish to disable it completely.
How can I do this, please? Thank you.

Thanks, fixed!
I turned off "Displays have separate Spaces" in Mission Control, and restarted – which seems to have disabled this feature.
