iPhone 13 Pro - Dotted Line Wide Angle Lens

Does anyone know why there is a dotted line over the images taken from a wide angle? Please see a visible example at the top of the image below.

It’s driving me nuts but there’s no option to remove it in the settings.

The photo is small and was taken in Portrait orientation as opposed to the preferred orientation of Landscape. This is why it posted in the wrong orientation, here on this forum. I also wonder why you chose the wide angle camera for a photo, in which the wide angle camera would not be the best camera for the photo opportunity?

I honestly don't see a dotted line in the photo?

Hi there,

The image posted is just an example taken immediately for the purpose of this forum. Hence the unnecessary wide-angle use you’ve outlined in your comment.

I also chose to decrease the size of the photo, that may be why you’re unable to see the dotted line.

Perhaps the image below is befitting of your insight. Again, although sized to fit the purpose, there is a clear blueish-purple dotted line across - what would be - the top of the image, if the image hadn't been rotated.

Please be aware that mine is not the only post you will see regarding this specific query. Many thanks.

OK....it's visible in the second photo. I'd have it checked out at your Apple Store Genius Bar. That is likely a hardware issue.

Again however, you are taking photos in portrait orientation, when your camera was designed to work best when photos are taken in landscape. This is again why the photo does not post in the right orientation on this forum.
