Screen recording quality is fine for me but looks bad to others

Hi, I have an iPhone X and whenever I screen record it looks fine on my device. But when I send it to someone else, they say it’s low quality. What can I do to fix it?

Hello Applesupporthelpmepls,

It sounds as though your sent screen recordings are showing lower quality than expected when others are viewing them. To help sort this out, we need a few details about your device and the devices receiving them.

  • What iOS version do you have installed?
  • What model phone and OS version are receiving the recording at a lower quality?
  • How are you sending the recordings (Messages, email, etc.)?

If sending the recordings through the Messages app, you may want to check your settings.

  1. Settings > Messages
  2. Scroll to the bottom of this screen
  3. If "Low Quality Image Mode" is enabled, disable it
  4. Test to see if there is any improvement.

Best regards.

Hi Applesupporthelpmepls,

Do you use Low Data Mode on your iPhone? If so, try changing this setting from Settings > Cellular. Since it limits data usage it may be related to the results your recipients are seeing. Check out Use Low Data Mode on your iPhone and iPad for more information.

Another setting to check is Low Power Mode. This setting will make your iPhone battery last longer but some features may not work well while using Low Power Mode. If enabled, you can disable from Settings > Battery. As a reference, check out Use Low Power Mode to save battery life on your iPhone or iPad.

If the same continues after checking those settings, also see if this is isolated to Messages. You can do that by sending the screen recording outside of Messages. For instance, you can try sending it as an email attachment, AirDrop, etc. If needed, check out corresponding articles below.
