iPhone 8 Plus poor cell signal

For several years we have had poor cell signal with the 8+. We have spoken with advanced support, enhanced logging, waited for bug fixes and the problem persists from at least iOS 14 to 15.6.1. We have even switched from ATT to xfinity (Verizon). It is only the 8 plus’s that have bad reception (6s and SE, SE 2022 are fine). The coverage improves briefly after a power down /reboot. Is it just a poor antenna design in the 8 plus? (We have two both are affected)

Over 24 hours have been spent with Apple in-person and advanced remote support. Both recognize the issue is real but all diagnostics were normal. No sign of damage and this is occurring on two phones. Guidance was it was an issue to be fixed in pending update but that hasn’t occurred. (And update was installed as fresh / new phone - not restored)
