HomePod Mini WiFi setup causes issues

I have two WiFi networks - 5GHz running in ac/ax mode and 2.4 GHz running in b/g/n/ax mode. All my Apple devices are running on faster 5GHz, but HomePod mini can only connect to 2.4GHz as it supports 802.11n WiFi. After setup, this creates warning that ' HomePod mini is unresponsive' in HomeKit and I can't connect to it anymore as the message says 'HomePod Mini is on a different WiFi network from other Apple products'.

Is there a happy solution to this or do I need to get rid of them?
