I have TV show episodes that I have purchased and have been payed for, at the time of purchase they were not available in HD format... If I wanted to get them in the HD format, would I have to repurchase them or is there a way to go past that and retain those episodes in the updated format without purchasing them again? I can provide purchase order numbers and dates to insure these TV show episodes were purchased from me and my account.

If purchases were made in SD, they would be unable to be upgraded to HD per the following resource:
If you purchase or rent a standard definition (SD) video, you can't play higher-quality versions.
