Can you Receive notifications from Wallet via text or email

Hi,

Once again, the initial question did not mention anything regarding Apple Cash Family or Apple Card Family, but simply notifications from Wallet. I did not make assumptions that the question involved either of the two, despite the linked article. This is due to questions being tied to an incorrect linked article majority of the time. I’d rather focus on the question that was asked, and provide an accurate answer.

To break it down further, so there is no confusion:

• Wallet: for transactions made with Apple Pay, whether it is a third-party credit or debit card, Apple Cash card, or Apple Card, notifications would not be received via email or text for transactions made with Apple Pay. Only push notifications. There is one exception to that - products purchased via Apple Pay at Apple Online, AppleCare+, and completing payments at the time of setting up service/repair with Apple Support would receive email confirmation with order details and etc. See How Apple uses your payment information.

I think you can only get onscreen notifications. You can request a feature (to be notified by email or text) here - Product Feedback - Apple after going to that link you will need to select Apple Pay then Apple Card.

Sorry, I was unaware it was for Participants in Family Setup. I do see the linked article, but i did not want to make assumptions since i didn’t see anything in the question involving Family Setup. Sorry again!

If the question is strictly regarding notifications received for transactions made for Participants on Apple Card and Apple Cash Family, the answer is yes, notifications can be configured by the Account Owner.

• Apple Cash Family: see View and limit your child or teen's Apple Cash activity for additional information.

For transactions made with third-party connected credit or debit cards that have been added to Wallet for the purpose of using with Apple Pay, you will only ever receive push notifications.

For transactions made with Apple Card or Apple Cash, you have the possibility of receiving email notifications, especially if you have recently applied for an Apple Card, and/or if you have open disputes with Apple Card or Apple Cash.

Other than that, you would never receive additional notifications. Only push notifications for transactions.

Neither of those mention a text or an email for the notification unless I am missing something. Yes, you can get a notification but as far as I can tell it is on the notification screen. While your answer is thorough and thoughtful, if the questioner cannot perform those actions based on your reply it is not helpful.

Where are the settings for this? The only emails I get are for when I pay my Apple Card bill and the monthly statements. They are not talking about their own transactions but the transactions of a family member. Can you clarify what you are saying?

You do not have to explain to me how any of it works. No one has answered more questions about Apple Pay and Apple Card than I have. I am sure the questioner has their answer by now.
