I use my alarm as a reminder to take an important medication and I really need the snooze button. If I am doing anything else on my phone, it works but I am using app, only get a banner and touching the banner or a side button stops the alarm completely

if you are using your device when the alarm goes off.. then don't tap on the banner notification.. swipe up on it to 'dismiss' it.
I do this all the time and it works to snooze the alarm.
