Excessive Battery Drain after 8.7 update

My series 4 watch has literally starting draining the battery in 4-5 hours after the OS update, no other changes, I have tried all of the online help about unpairing and re pairing, deleted loads of Apps, turned off notifications, background app refresh, force closed every open app, turned brightness down, volume off.

And still draining in 4 hours!

See there are LOADS of other posts with similar issue!! What is being done about it? Made my watch completely useless.

Hey dan198025,

You've gone through great troubleshooting steps. You mentioned the decreased battery life started after updating to watchOS 8.7.

The most up-to-date version is watchOS 8.7.1, so if it isn't installed, we recommend doing so: Update your Apple Watch. Updating ensures bug fixes have been installed.

Since the Apple Watch is paired to a device, it is also recommended that the paired device is up-to-date for the same reasons

If you continue to have battery life concerns, we'd suggest contacting Apple Support for further assistance. You may reach out to them here: Get Support.

Take care.
