Everytime I open the app, it pick up my pdf files and open it up from one drive.
when I try after a while, nothing happens.
i am using the latest ipad, updated in every aspect, loads of space in all my drives.
i re installed it, no change- work a hour, then stop opening up my pdf files.
i added now a external document reader app (Documents) which open it up in 3 seconds.
anything else I can do?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. You mentioned OneDrive which is a 3rd-party app and the Files app. To clarify, which are you using to open files when this happens? It sounds like you may have tried these steps for the Files app but if you are using both, be sure to complete the following steps from If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support for both apps.
1. Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
2. Restart your device
Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.
3. Check for updates
To see if updates are available for the app, open the App Store, tap your profile icon, then scroll down to see if updates are available. If updates aren't available for the app, update the software on your iPhone or iPad.
4. Delete the app, then redownload it
Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed.
If this continues, when you test the app you mentioned above (Documents), do you open the files directly from that app or from within the Files app? That may isolate this a bit further.
