Apple warranty

Hey! I am buying an unopened MacBook Pro from a private seller who bought it from a bankruptcy estate. The seller says that the warranty only starts when the MacBook is put into use. Is it so?

No, it is not. Apple starts the warranty when the device is sold to the original buyer. If you are buying it within a year, there will be some period still under warranty. If that was longer than that, there will not be any warranty let - unopened or not.
