duplicating a worksheet/table and copying it into a new numbers file

I make up forms for my taxes and want to copy last year's form (worksheet) into my new numbers tax file.

I need to preserve not only the values but also the formatting, merged cells, formulas, etc. I used to be able to to this but can't figure it out now. There are old posts on this subject, but I can't make the suggestions there work.

A. To copy a sheet (tab) from one Numbers document to another:

Go up to its "tab" at the top and choose Copy Sheet from the dropdown.

In the new document go to any "tab" at the top and choose Paste Sheet from the dropdown.

B. To copy a table from one document to another.

Click in a table, then on the concentric circles "bulls-eye" to its upper left:

Type command-c, then click on the canvas of a sheet in the new document and type command-v to paste.

CaptJRP,

Most likely the best, fastest and simplest is to duplicate the file then rename the file to the new name (year etc).

Goto File then duplicate. Once Numbers duplicates the file, then you can rename it by clicking on the name title. A drop down box will appear with the name and location of said file.

Once duplicated and renamed, you are free to delete any unwanted data. This can be done using scripts if you want to learn that as well.

Hope that helps.
