My AirTag will not complete the set up process on my iPhone.

Let’s be sure we’re covering all our bases. 

If there are any updates available for your iPhone in Settings > General > Software Update, please create a backup and then install them. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, if you haven’t already, can we try setting up your AirTag on a different network. So Wi-Fi instead of cellular or vice versa. If you have VPN software installed, can we test with that removed temporarily? 

Can you let us know if you have an Apple ID that is managed for education? We ask because a managed Apple ID does not allow for AirTag set up. About Managed Apple IDs for education

We understand that you're unable to setup your AirTag. To clarify, are you receiving any type of error message? To ensure that we're covering all of our bases, have you completed these steps as well:

1. Make sure that your device is ready for setup.

2. If the setup animation disappeared, press the side button or Sleep/Wake button on your iPhone to put your device to sleep. Then wake and unlock your iPhone. Wait up to 15 seconds, and the animation should reappear. 

3. If you have multiple AirTags to set up, make sure that only one is near your device at one time.

4. Remove and then replace the battery in your AirTag.* 

5. If your AirTag still won't connect to your device, reset your AirTag.
