Can I use original iPhone power adapter (10 years old) for iPhone 7 Plus

Question

Can I use original iPhone power adapter (10 years old) for iPhone 7 Plus?

It has USB connector on the transformer end, but original cable has old style 2mm x 2cm connector.

Of course, I will use a modern cable. It seems to work, but I just want to be sure.
