Apple security breached using “hide my email”

Two of my accounts were accessed and hacked using the iPhone feature “hide my email” feature. Two unauthorized “ hide my email “ accounts were created and forwarded to my primary email. One was for Zoom - which May explain “ Zoom bombers” and the other for my Los Ángeles Times subscription. I just removed the “ hide my email” addressees tonight.

Anyone else having issues with the “ hide my email” feature?

it seems far too easily exploited. Please fix. Thank you

iPhone 13, iOS 15

If Hide My Email addresses are getting created, your Apple ID would appear compromised.

Enable two-factor authentication as well, if that is not already enabled.

Thank you- I thought so, but how? Apple has always been so secure, and that’s one of the reasons I love it.

Nobody here can know that. Password re-use is utter doom, phishing is a possibility, general lack of two-factor authentication (which provides a last-ditch means to prevent take-over), maybe sharing the password, etc., how an Apple ID can be or was compromised varies.

I now have two -factor authentication. I didn’t reuse my password. I never share my password.

phishing seems a likely possibility.

I think Apple should revoke it’s Microsoft sharing software and remain as it was pre that bad desciion. I am thinking that opened the gate to compromised software. Apple is being too nice to Microsoft- whose ultimate goal is takeover. Do not trust android or Microsoft.

I am unclear what was being referencing here around Microsoft, nor how it might relate to Hide My Email.
