I don’t see the FaceTime on my phone, but can search and get it- in the AppStore I get the option to open it - but FaceTime app itself is invisible on the phone

FaceTime is on your phone, but you may have hidden the icon for it in a folder or another page of your Home screen. The easiest way to fix this is to go to the App Library (the last page of your Home screen), find it in the alphabetical list and drag it to where you want it.

after searching through spotlight for FaceTime, long press on the icon, the got an option to add to Home Screen!!!
It was probably hidden somehow, but definitely was not present in any folders or pages- I had painstakingly gone through all folders and pages to verify that. Anyway got the solution- from spotlight search long press to add to Home Screen
