Unlike iPhone, Apple does not offer in-store “while you wait” battery replacement service.

For qualifying devices that remain in hardware support, for iPad, Apple generally offer their express replacement service - where you are offered an exchange for a reconditioned iPad of the same model and specification. The exchange cost is typically the same as a battery replacement.

Unfortunately, hardware support by Apple (and therefore battery service) for the iPad mini2 has ended. Your only option will be to find a third-party repair store - who may be able to replace the battery with a non-OEM battery.

Before exploring third-party alternatives, you would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad, Power Adapter and cable(s):

If the technicians are unable to offer help, then is the time to explore alternatives.
