How can I uninstall the update and return to a previous software version? I can possibly save my job, my countless hours upon hours of work that seems lost, and get back to my life which is all encapsulated in my newly obsolete iPad if and only if I downgrade the software or Apple fixes this disaster sooner than later.

All System Updates are digitally signed by Apple - and can only be installed whilst the digital signatures remain valid.
