App Store app updates

Fairly recently, using latest versions (always) on my iPhone 13 pro, when I go to update apps, they just spin and spin. The only way to actually update is to restart my phone. It’s really annoying and don’t know why it’s happened. Without fail, it happens every time and only a restart allows app updates.

Any ideas? For a while I was signing out of “media and purchases” menu under “apple id” in the settings to see if that may be related to what seemed to be the biggest battery drain for me (App Store). It didn’t solve that so have signed back in and left it.

Just in case it helps someone, after diagnostics with apple support (which didn’t fix it) it occurred to me that because I went abroad and used a second sim (which I hadn’t removed yet) and whether that might be the problem. I took it out and everything works as before. So that seems to be the problem.
