Unlocking IPhone 13 pro for international travel

Hi all.

I have an IPhone 13 Pro I purchased through an upgrade with Verizon Wireless. Headng to Scotland & Germany next month and from what I can see would like to unlock the phone and purchase a SIM for use while I'm there.

Can anyone point me to appropriate resources?
