How to set default reply address in Mail? (Monterey)

Hello.

I know one can set the default address for composing NEW email messages in Mail, however I'm looking for a way to set a default address to always be used when REPLYING to emails in Mail.

e.g. I have two email addresses, phil@phil.com and steve@steve.com. I always want to reply using the phil@phil.com address, no matter which email address the original message was sent to.

Does anyone know whether this is possible?

I'm using 12.5 Monterey.

(There is an old post from 2015 with the exact same question, but the solution doesn't work in Monterey on my Mac)

Thanks for you help.

Agree with previous post above this one reply.

By the way - when I use Safari and click on one of your e-mail addresses in original posting >> Mail Open --- >>

But then again, I only have one e-mail account with three domains all related to Apple Mail Services

Hello and thank you for your quick reply but it doesn't work for me.

whatever the setting I make in the popup of your last screenshot, mail answers a message I received following a previous mail sent from one of my accounts only with the same account.

I am in the process of changing my professional email address and I would like that when replying to any message I receive on my old address, the new address is automatically used for the reply.

Hello and thank you for your help, I know I can change the sender for each message but I want to avoid doing so because I receive a lot of mail per day, this method is too time consuming and risky (there is a good chance to forget to change the popup before sending the reply).

Many other people are facing the same problem, there must be a better way to proceed.

Well, you can change the outgoing server for each account to match in Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings but it will apply to both Send & Reply. Plus I've read Gmail and perhaps others won't accept it. You can try.
