Attachments and ios15 calendar when Google calendar is default

Hello

I have 2 questions about using iOS calendar on my iPhone 12pro.

I have added my (long used) Google calendar to iOS calendar and it is mostly great.

A couple things I have noticed which (if there is no resolution) are a bit substandard:

1) when using the default apple calendar in iOS calendar and I want to add an attachment, there the option to add an attachment just below the alert options.

if I switch to my Google calendar when adding an event, there is no such option. Is it simply a case that apple have chosen not to support adding attachments for non apple calendars OR is it that Google don’t allow the adding of attachments via non Google calendar apps (or is it something else) ?

2) when I switch to Google calendar in safari (logging into Google is required for this) I can add an attachment. When I go back into iOS calendar app, I can now see the attachment, however, it appears the attachment is only a link to the attachment (I am not sure about this though) and I am forced to log into Google calendar in the safari browser. This seems odd as I have entered my Google credentials into the iOS calendar app when I added my Google calendar in the first place. So, the question is whether this is apple choosing to not support attachments natively in their app or is this Google not allowing attachment usage in a Google calendar in anything other than a Google calendar app? Or is it something else?

note: I am keen to continue using the iOS calendar app with my Google calendar as the default. Interoperability issues shouldn’t still be a thing in 2022.

Any thoughts or workarounds greatly appreciated.

kind regards

If you find something is missing on iOS devices, you may provide --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple < here.

Hello SravanKrA,

yes I appreciate apple have a feedback loop, although this does not necessarily help in this instance as I don’t know where exactly the problem exists. If the problem is with Google, there is not much apple can do about it without a collaborative approach by both companies. Hence at this stage I am just trying to understand the root cause of the problem.

thanks for your reply though, much appreciated
