Does iTunes Match do Apple Digital Masters?

Couldn’t reply to the original thread, so reposting the same type of question.

Apparently, the matching algorithm for Apple Music and iTunes is the same. Therefore if you get a match in theory it could be a Digital Master. How do you know?

I have invested a fair amount now in updating my library given my vast owned content as I ripped all my CDs many years ago and no longer have any.

I have a vast number of matches, so would like to know whether I am actually matched to a Digital Master. I have quite a few Digital Masters purchased, they are marked as such on the apps. Have some matches where the only album on iTunes is a Digital Master, they are not marked in any form. Would be useful to know as the Digital Masters are perfection in dynamics

You could make a new library where you enable Sync Library so that you can see/stream the entire collection from the cloud. You can hen download one of these tracks to see if there is visible evidence that you've got a Digital Master version. You can also try comparing the fresh download with your original copy to see if there is an improvement. If so then in your main library you can select the tracks of that album, ctrl/right click > Remove Download, then ctrl/right click > Download to upgrade your copies of those tracks.
