Google contacts and google calendar not syncing with apple contacts and apple calendar on my M2 macbook pro.

I'm on the latest macOS Monterey 12.5.1. I've literally tried everything. I tried to disable the contacts and enable it again on system preferences -> internet accounts. I've also removed the google account and re-added it and it still was of no use. The mail app syncs well with my gmail account. But why aren't calendar and contacts on my Mac syncing with my google account ? Is this a bug ?
