Can an older Magic Mouse Model 1296 without Thunderbolt port be connected to Mac Studio without and existing mouse or trackpad connection?

I did not have a wired mouse. I borrowed a friends rechargeable Magic Mouse, plugged into the USB-A port. It did not work. Unplugged it and it paired up wirelessly. Then I was able to open Preferences and pair up my non-rechargeable Magic Mouse Model A1296. Thanks for the comment.
Any bluetooth mouse can be paired to the Studio. If you have a wired mouse then just get the required adapter for USB-A to USB-C port.
Well, for what it’s worth, all of the non user replaceable battery Magic Mice use USB ports only for charging. They are totally Bluetooth wireless when it comes to connecting to a Mac.
